The other major manufacturer is Heyl, based in Germany. They manufacture both Ca-DTPA and Zn-DTPA but they may be only selling Zn-DTPA. Although the DTPA is identical to the Hamlen product, it is not FDA-approved, and hence we cannot recommend US centers purchasing and using it.

HOPO
HOPO is currently undergoing FDA-mandated phase testing in the USA. It presently is not available as an FDA-approved product. We will keep information on this up-to-date. The stability constant for Gd is reported as significantly higher than DTPA, so we are optimistic about this agent.
We are aware that there are Chinese firms offering HOPO. We cannot advise using them as dosage and safety have not been determined.
OTHER CHELATORS
At present, we do not recommend the use of other chelators for the removal of Gadolinium. We are paying attention to studies determining the log stability constant for the Gd binding of other chelators.
Chelators with a stability similar to DTPA or higher will be added to our list.
